OUR STORY
Twenty five years ago, master distiller Don Carlos and his family planted their first agave in the Highlands of Jalisco Mexico, in a ranch called el tepozán, with a plan to create a true farm-to-glass tequila.
The location of the Tepozán distillery was chosen by means of a simple wire divining rod, revealing a natural mineral spring 400 meters under ground.
Today, el Tepozán distillery is one of the few distilleries which creates tequilas fully grown, processed, and bottled at the source.
the name “tepozán” comes from a plant (Buddleja cordata), said to only grow if there is gold in the ground it is taking its nutrients from.
Tepozán is a MADE TO SIP tequila that represents the highest standards in the industry. True to the old ways, our only ingredients are ripe blue agave, natural yeast, and volcanically filtered well water. We are proud to serve COMPLETELY clean, authentic tequila, simply great tasting.

remember to whisper your deepest desire,
Because once the butterfly is released, it
will take your wish to Xochiquetzal, the goddess of joy and flowers,
and your wish will be granted.
Tepozán is the manifestation of our distiller's greatest desire.
And so, our tequilas received the name of the majestic
flowering shrub known to attract butterflies.
